This originally was going to be "A Certain Kind of Man" pop version. However, the day I was going to go into the studio and sing vocals, I fell asleep and heard different lyrics to the song specifically in the chorus I heard, "Now I Lay me down to sleep." I woke up and re-wrote the entire song lyrics to this version that you hear now.

I started songwriting after being let go from a coaching position and I was broken hearted. I was suicidal and I remembered that a girl from my former team was suicidal too. I wrote this song for her and for me and anybody who had suicidal feelings, that sometimes when you feel all alone, to remember that others feel all alone too. And we need each other, and we need to stay alive for each other. If you feel suicidal, know this. You are important! You matter. I care about you. God cares about you. Don't you dare give up!

This short album is a selection of some of the first songs I started writing when I turned to songwriting. This was my first short album that I released in 2025. It took about nine years to get to this point. Nine years of writing lyrics, learning to play guitar, learning how to write a song, learning how to produce, and the processes of finding studios, musicians, and producers to work on this project with me. It was long road to get here and I was only able to do it because Jesus Christ. My husband was also supportive, as I had to work with 3 studios to finally finish the songs. Many times I wanted to give up, but I continued because I believed it was God's calling on my life to write songs and that this was only the beginning.

This started out as a poem I wrote when I was in my dorm room in the Air Force, stationed at Hickam AFB, Hi. And I was dreaming of the kind of man I wanted to marry. When I turned to songwriting many years later, I found the old poem, and re-worked some of the lyrics to write this song. It was one of the first songs I wrote, and when I met my now husband, Mike, I asked him if he would care if I released music that I wrote when I was single, and he said he supported me because music helps people. And so the goal for this song is for other young women to have a fun song to sing to while dreaming of the kind of man they'd like to marry one day!

Before I believed in God, and before Jesus saved me, I was suicidal and kept seeing things that gave me hope. Like a five deer looking in my eyes, and a rainbow wrapped around the sun. These things made me wonder if God was real. Jesus ended up saving me and I realized it was him the whole time- using his creation when I was alone to save me. I felt like a lone wolf, and I was, but Jesus had his eye on me. I wrote this song for other lone wolf's to know that God loves them, and he sees them too.

I wrote this song when I was a veteran and was reflecting on my nearly 7 years in the Air Force, and how I was treated as a woman veteran. There was a point that I almost didn't release this song, but I felt God convict me that other military girls needed it as much as I did. I felt like he was telling me that he sees the affliction of military girls- how they serve, how many are abused, and how they are often forgotten, and how they are often not appreciated as much as thier male peers. This song was for me, but it's also for them.

I feel like it's important to share that this experience makes me appreciate even more the sacrifices of those who served and I believe veterans deserve honor and respect.

Thank you veterans for your service. And thank you military girls. My sisters in arms.
